Unfornatively I observed the same problem after recheck.

I just upgraded to 0.5.9.3 (ubuntu amd64) and I get worried by your post. What is your OS and version of deluge that you are using?

First, say I want only 50 megs of a 12 gig torrent, well to select individual files you have to enable precaching. I was pretty sure the file created should only be as big as the pieces it needed to download. so like loki said storing this in a temporary file would occupy the same amount of space. or did you mean it should remove the extra file(s) after the download is complete? I reported the same bug for the short-life 0.5.8.8, I suggest developers should take a look on this issue. This bug together with another bug that randomly corrupting the state files force me to downgrade to 0.5.8.7 again.
