Deluge Rechecks when opened

Hi, I'm using deluge 0.5.8.9 in linux i386 and every time I open up the program about half of my torrents (+40) are rechecked (about 20Gb of files) How can I stop it doing this? It slows down everything on my computer and is completely unnecessary as the files that it is rechecking are 100% downloaded and write is restricted to root only.

see if the problem still exists in 0.5.9.3 which can be downloaded from here.
the 0.5 branch is no longer really being worked on so if it doesn't work in that you'd best be off using the latest RC.
