{Feature Request} Individual Torrent Ratio Overide

Post by milkman »

Hi. I just want to start out by saying that I'm new to Linux (Ubuntu) and I've tried every available BT client looking for something uttorent-like and Deluge is definitely the closest to that.

That being said, one important thing that utorrent has that I believe is unique to the program is the ability to change one single torrent's desired ratio to 0 for the rare occasion of something you don't want to seed. Also, a more prominent progress bar would be great.

why dont you just pause the torrent? how is that any different? fyi, there is a desired ratio plugin, but it doesnt handle a zero setting. svn has an advanced progress bar, if you wanna try that.

I'd very much like this feature as well. Not for setting ratio to zero, though. But there's some torrent I like so much I'd like to set them to a much higher ratio (or an indefinite one).

So, +1 on this one.

Azureus has a 'Force Start' option, which essentially ignores the set ignore ratio. I just checked out the 'Desired Ratio' plugin, but that appears far too limited (choices of 1, 2, 3, or default). I'd love to see either a force seed option or an option to manually set the desired ratio to arbitrary values instead of a few discrete ones.

"forced seed" would be the same thing as having the ratio not set

Based on my observations, it seems you're talking about the global ratio setting (Preferences/Seeding/Stop Seeding...) This appears to work as expected, option enabled (checked): deluge stops seeding when the desired ratio is reached/exceeded, option disabled: deluge keeps seeding.

When I have the Desired Ratio plugin activated, the Not set option appears to do nothing when the Stop Seeding option is enabled, ie the torrent switches to paused as soon as the Stop Seeding ratio has been reached/exceeded.

A picture paints a thousand words, so:

With those settings, the torrent will instantly switch back to Paused when I click Resume.

Obviously, I often have more torrents active, most I'd like to stop seeding once they reach 1.50 ratio, occasionally I want some to seed forever.

Yep. But that plugin doesn't seem to be working if global limit is set.

My point is that I usually want to remove files when download is complete. But from some trackers, I need to care about my ratio, so I would like to set per torrent ratio. I got that plug in but it fails to do that.

I hope this get's fixed.

Also it would way cool to have "custom" ratio setting with that plugin.

Coolest ever, but it's future development would be / tracker ratio option. So I can prelist trackers and what ratio I would like to keep. And that would work according tracker, not per individual torrents. So I might have one torrent with 0.5 ratio and another with 2.0 because nobody wanted to download that which got 0.5 ratio.

- Thanks

I know, that / torrent ratio setting is good enough. Rest of that crap was just my vision. ;)

yes, individual torrent ratio would be nice if possible. Cause sometimes, I need to give priority to certain downloads that is near it's completion.

Giving priority to certain torrent would achieve what I want here but with individual torrent ratio, we can do much more than this. Like the requirement as per the thread starter.
