Deluge Crashes when Changing "Download Folders"

Post by suicaf »

I recently moved to an ubuntu based OS and am attempting to get Deluge back up and running. I previously had it working on Windows 10.
I am attempting to use the standalone application.
When I attempt to modify the "Download to", "Move completed to", or "Copy of .torrent files to", no matter what I change it to, Deluge immediately crashes after hitting enter and does not retain the changes.
The default folder is my Downloads folder in home and even trying to simply move it to Documents will crash the system.
I have looked at directory permissions and everything there looks right as well.

Any help or suggestions are appreciated

Hello Suicaf,

Can you open the terminal and open deluge through the terminal. if it crashes you will get at least an output to start with to see what is going on.

Btw, what Ubuntu version are you using and what desktop environment (KDE Plasma, Gnome, Mate..etc) are you using?

Hey Shinger,

Sorry I was away for a little while, but I will be able to go back and test this out soon running from the terminal. The OS I am using is the latest version of Zorin OS using a GNOME desktop environment. I will update soon once I have an opportunity to run again.

UPDATE: (Sooner than expected)
I thought I had tried this but I suppose not. When I ran from the terminal, the problem went away. I had previously updated my graphics drivers since my last attempt but that seems to be the only thing I changed. Not sure why that is the case, but thank you for your help!
