Seeding completed torrents on a different computer

Post by RR96 »

Hello, my pc is having issues and I will have to reformat the OS, is there a way to import all of the deluge files on a new computer to keep seeding them? I have all my downloaded files on an external drive so that's not an issue and I still should be able to retrieve something from the main disk where Deluge is installed on the faulty pc. I wonder if there's a specific directory I should/could simply copy and paste on the same path of the new deluge installation on a different pc

If you have the data in the same place (location) on the system (The path is the same relative to deluge) - then you can simply copy over your deluge folder from %APPDATA% and replace it on your new system.

This is the config options and settings, and your torrent client "state" - it should be an identical setup in that regards and, as i said, if the torrent's data is in the same location it will just "pick right back up"

If it isnt, there are scripts to change the paths before starting deluge (search "path change" on the forums) - but it will error if the paths are not consistent.
