Empty recent list (windows taskbar)

Hi.
When I hover over the taskbar button for deluge og right click it, it will show a long list of torrents. Same thing if I open start and search for deluge.

Does anyone know where this list is stored? I would very much like to nuke it on every startup.

You're probably talking about your recently opened files list or searching indexed files, I'm not entirely sure where that specific list is stored or how to exclude things from indexing, but in Windows 7 there was a way to clear it and I know you can turn of indexing because I did it, I'd assume the list somewhere in the registry as well.

You might have to google to find out how to modify or clear it, and see if that solves your problem. I'm not entirely sure what you're seeing because I can't replicate this on my machine at all.

The [url:https://www.thewindowsclub.com/clear-mo ... d-mru-list]MRU[/url] lists are, as I understand it, in several places. It can be in registry, but it can also be shortcuts in a folder or entries in an ini file. I've found several, but not deluge's. I've also tried searching for the names in the MRU list, but I cannot find that anywhere.

Indexing *can* solve it for some applications, but I'd rather not turn it off for all apps. It's quite useful for some, like excel.

Ok, then it's literally exactly what I described to you, and you will need to do some research into how to clear or modify the list as I stated.

This is a feature of windows, not Deluge.

Well, removing torrent files from the indexing service removed it from the start menu, but not the right click menu from the taskbar.

No, I've seen that. The problem with that solution is that it removes the MRU for all applications. I'm testing something now, which looks promising.

Then write a script or something that modifies the registry and removes all the .torrent files or something. I'm not sure what to tell you, this is a Windows feature that is, as far as I'm aware, either on or off.

If you find a way to disable it for specific programs, feel free to post your solution.

Will do. If it sticks after a restart I'll write a short guide, as the solution is short and sweet (if it works). I'm guessing it'll be interesting to a few windows users as it will help anonymize things.
