Deluge keep crashing, closing

Hello, I'm no pro or anything. Just an average Joe who like to torrents. Back then I was using Utorrent until new Windows kept blocking access. A friend made me use Deluge and its been great! I'd say around 2-3 month tho, its been going bad. Each time I click on it, the program open then desapear by itself. Crash or close I'm guessing. I'm using the Deluge from download link. I did not changed much the setting. I'm on a basic laptop Acer with now Windows 11 Familly(thats what system say anyway). Using the basic Windows anti virus and same for firewall. No VPN. I did try the basics like run as administrator, or check if my firewall was blocking it. I'm getting desperate. Ty.

My first guess would be that something in your config or state files has become corrupted.

If you hit the windows key and R at the same time to bring up "Run" - then type '%APPDATA%\deluge' it will bring you to the default configuration folder.

This is where all your settings and the "state" (torrents) are stored.

The first thing I would say is that you can try simply going to the main AppData folder and renaming the 'deluge' folder to 'old-deluge' and running it.

You will have no settings or previous torrents, but I would assume if it worked before and is not working now - that this will get it back to a state where you can start to reconfigure it.

Before I do anything stupid, can I save the "state" and keep my torrents that way? As for AppData do you mean the under users(me) and roaming?

Yes as ambipro stated(resolves to that when doing his instructions, both your questions).

If didn't help then check antivirus, as sometimes needs an exclude rule because windows decided an issue apparently - I needed that, last testing for someone on windows.

The state file itself is often what is corrupted and causing the crash, however the .torrent files would be present in the state folder as well and could be readded manually after you get deluge sorted out as I outlined.

As ambipro said, I guess the state was corrupted. I tried reinstalling them and Deluge closed again. Tried with no state installed and a random torrent and its seem to be perfectly working. Losing my torrents sucks a little but at least Deluge is working again! Thanks you so much! Probably added to many magnets and made Deluge go crazy. Thx again!
