installing deluge 1.3.11 on headless server

First, I am a linux noob. I am trying to install deluge 1.3.11 on headless ubuntu server 14.04. ver 1.3.12 is not approved by my tracker.

1. Which tar file do i need?
[ ] deluge-1.3.11.tar.lzma 2014-11-30 22:20 1.4M
[ ] deluge-1.3.11.tar.gz 2014-11-30 22:19 2.8M
[ ] deluge-1.3.11.tar.bz2 2014-11-30 22:19 1.7M

2. Do these include the daemon and webui?
3. Can i follow the 1.3.12 server and thin client tutorials, or do i need to do something different?

I've installed deluge 1.3.11 from the .tar.gz file.

i followed the server and thin client guides.

i can login to the webui with default password deluge

i can't connect thru either the webui or my client..all versions are 1.3.11

i have 2 auth files i've edited them both to have deluge:deluge:10
i've searched around and tried some of the solutions in the forum.
still can't connect..

what am i missing?

rebooted server..i can connect now..

Sill quite a noob. Even though i got it working, still not sure what i did and how things work. If anyone has any insight..i'd love to learn.
