Hello everybody.
I'm french, I hope you'll understand my english...
I run Deluge 1.3.5 on a Fedora 16 server, with 4 Go of RAM (bicore AMD). My ADSL cnx : UP : 2.5 Mo/s ; DOWN : 12.5 Mo/s
About 18 month ago, I experienced Deluge hangs, when I reached about 2 000 torrents in share. I increased "Open files limit" on my server, the things went back to normal.
I have activated automatic remove of torrents when a certain ratio is hit, but in fact I add torents faster than they go away.
So, torrent after torrent, I share now about 3900 torrents on 5-6 private trackers.
And the things are going bad since some weeks : 90-95% of my trackers are in error (they are tagged in "Error" on the left side of the interface) and, for each, I have the message :
"some tracker: Error: Connexion terminée par expiration du délai d'attente" (connection terminated by expiration of waiting delay).
Sometimes I got less torents in error, when the tracker is updated, but I fall back quickly to almost all my torrents tagged "Error"
My share statistics drop very low. I used to share at about 80% of my UP capacity regularly, now, it's a matter of some Ko
So my question : Did I reach some limit of Deluge (Linux) ?
Is there anywhere a parameter to touch (Deluge or Linux) ?
or, no way, Deluge (Linux ?) is unable to share this big number of torrents and I have to dramatically decrease my number of shares ?
Thanks you in advance for your help.
Joe.
Deloge VERY slow with big number of torrents
Re: Deloge VERY slow with big number of torrents
Hi
Deluge 1.3.X does not support thousands of torrents very well, and there isn't much you can do about this unfortunately. This has been worked on in development, and current git-develop handles at least a few thousand without issues. See http://dev.deluge-torrent.org/wiki/Deve ... f_torrents for more information.

When reporting issues, please include any relevant information such as OS (and version), python version (for Windows users this depends on which Deluge installer was used), Deluge version and plugin version.

Thank you Bro for your response.
I think it's my responsibility to share what I got in the long run, so, I'm going to look for other torrent clients.
I'm really sad, because the features Deluge offers are very interesting and I'm not sure others will do the job.
Good luck to the Deluge dev team !
