random read/write on torrents with loads of files = slow spe

Post by mephisto »

Hi there,

I'm having problems with torrents that have many files inside. The files generate too many reads/writes to a point that the disk is used 100% of the time and slow down the speed of the transfer drastically. I was hoping I could change settings to make deluge for example download no more than let's say 10 or 20 files at the same time, or segments so there is more sequential read/write and the speed increases.

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks!

SO, I installed the ltconfig plugin and selected the preset "high speed seed" and now my disk activity is lower. I believe this is becuase of the size of the disk cache so instead of capping the download speed at 3-4MB sec because the disk was at 100%, now it goes to 7.5MB sec which is the download limit of my line with 60% disk time usage which is way better.

I recommend you doing the same if you have problems with high disk time usage (high latency)
