File associations

Post by Varjak »

Through my own fault, I messed up Deluge by installing another bittorrent client. Now, I can't get the file associations back so that magnet links work. I used the usual control panel to try and restore the associations; but neither Deluge nor the file types show up to re-connect the associations. Can I do this manually through Deluge or something?

If I install the newest form of Deluge, will it restore the file associations? And if I reinstall Deluge over the current installation, will I lose my current roster of torrents and the associated information?

Thanks and sorry for all the probably basic, newbie questions.

Reinstalling has no effect on config/torrents

So will it restore the file associations? I can't figure out how to do it the traditional way through the control panel.

Okay, I fixed the file associations. You need to do it in the browser not in the control panel.

I'm still having problems with that one torrent (I think it may be the torrent); but with another multi-file torrent, it didn't want to work if I left it to download all the files simultaneously. If I marked all of them but one 'do not download' and then turned each file on one by one, I got it to work. So I suspect there is an issue with multi-file torrents. Not sure why this happened, since I had not updated Deluge and until recently it worked perfectly.
