Greetings. I am new to Deluge and I think what I have in mind is possible but not sure. Hoping some kind peeps on this board can help me out. I have a server on my LAN running Windows 8. I have two clients on my LAN, one is Mac OS X and the other is Windows 7. What I would like to do is have Deluge running on all systems, but have the clients pass their torrents/magnet links to the server.
From what I've read so far it sounds like this is possible. I have Deluge installed on the Win 8 server but I'm not sure if I need to have it running as a service. If that is the case, I found a thread about using NSSM to start Deluge as a service on Windows, and I have read the ThinClient/Server Setup instructions on the Deluge wiki.
So I guess I'm really just wondering if what I'm thinking is feasible and whether installing as a service is necessary.
Thanks!
Setting up a Deluge server on Windows 8

A service is helpful if you want Windows to start and stop deluged on startup or restart it if it crashes.
There is a change with deluged in 1.3.6 so that the cmd windows no longer show but previous to that I think some users might have been using the service option to hide that window.
