Labels plugin not working - Deluge v1.3.5

Hi guys,
I have an XBMCBuntu install running Deluge 1.3.5 but I can't seem to get the labels plugin to work via the webui. I can see the labels Filter on the left side of the screen, I can also right click and select "new label". After entering a label word or name I click ok and nothing happens, if I click cancel my torrents disappear and a refresh of the page is required to make them come back.
My only thought is that I upgraded recently from 1.3.3 (where labels also didn't work) and somehow the correct labels plugin has not been installed/upgraded.
Is there any way to reinstall the plugin, replace it or properly diagnose the problem? My guess is a very vague one at best!
Any help would be appreciated or if someone could point me in the right direction that would be great.
