I have not found anything that would tell me what to do with deluge once it is installed and running.
I can find stuff on http://torrentz.eu and download the .torrent file, but then what?

The creator of the package cleverly arranged that deluge will do nothing unless you go to edit->preferences->interface and check the enable box for "classic mode".
After that, it is intuitive.

By default Deluge is installed with classic mode enabled. Disabling it puts Deluge into thinclient mode which allows you to connect to a separate deluged either locally or remote.
