Web UI Session timeout issues

Post by mondalaci »

Hi guys,

My goal is to set session timeout to the maximum value (ideally eternity plus one day) because I don't ever wanna type my password again. I was trying to set this value through Web UI > Preferences > Interface > Session Timeout without any success so far so here are my questions:

* If I edit the session timeout value throgh the web interface and click the OK button (optionally clicking the Accept button beforehand) then nothing seem to happen. The new value doesn't get written to the config file. Not only that but no other option gets saved to the config file that I set through Web UI. Anyone can confirm this?
* Even if I shut down the daemon, edit the session timeout value in the config file and start the daemon, the newly specified value gets utterly disrespected by Web UI.
* The maximum value that can be specified for the session timeout through Web UI is 99999. What is the actual maximum value that can be specified in the config file? Why is this input limitation through the web UI?
* As a last word, I don't think that using seconds as units makes sense here. No sane person would ever want to have a session timeout value shorter than one minute so it'd really make sense to use minutes as units.

A full answer about the above would be highly appreciated but I'd also be happy with a workaround.
