WebUI password resets every reboot

Using ubuntu 10.04 Lucid and deluge 1.2.3-2 and I had been using it without issue. I've made no changes to deluge's configuration or anything but now upon every reboot the password for webui is reset back to default "deluge". If I go into the settings and set the password again, it simply resets it again after a reboot is completed.
