Hi!
I have started to miss this feature from good old eDonkey. Because now I'm having more users on my home network than just me. It would be so great if Deluge could automaticly manage bandwidth, so it wouldn't cause problems and total lag for other users.
I know that of course I could set parameters so that I would use only 25% of total bandwidth. But that's such waste of bandwidth especially when seeding new stuff.
How it was done with eDonkey? It pings selected IP (ie. ISP network after your home link) and if latency went over preselected level, then upload bandwidth was reduced.
It was very very efficient. When ever I send large email attachments or so, eDonkey just dropped upload to 20KB/s and a few seconds after attachment was sent, upload was back up to 900KB/s.
If I wouldn't have automatic upload bandwidth management, then I would set permanently low level like 50KB/s or 100KB/s upload limit, so I'm sure that it wont cause problems with other programs.
Does this make any sense to anyone?
I think this is just kind of feature which would be good to implement as plugin. And it's also quite easy to implement.

Automatic upload bandwidth management plugin? No lag!
Re: Automatic upload bandwidth management plugin? No lag!
Would like to +1 on this one. The reason I end up using either uTorrent or Vuze is their bandwidth automanagement features. I wouldn't have to use it if my connection was adamant but unfortunately there are times when there's too much lag for the upload limit I set, which means I have to keep manually adjusting the upload on bad days or end up with a choked connection most of the time.
