I tried to create a torrent with Deluge 1.1.9. Everything seemed to go fine - I actually created the torrent file pretty easily. It's just that when I went to try and upload/distribute it, I ran into trouble (nothing happened).
Here's the steps I took:
1) Choose File -> Create Torrent.
2) Selected the file (with the File button) and added a comment about it.
3) Added http://open.tracker.thepiratebay.org/announce in the Trackers tab.
4) Put a check in the box next to Add this torrent to the session in the Options tab.
5) Clicked Save and it added the torrent to my Deluge session.
...Nothing happened after that. It just sits there, as if it's trying to download it from 0%. I tried "Force Re-check" and "Move Storage", but neither worked. When I click "Open Folder" from its context menu, it opens the default download folder, not the folder that the actual file is stored in. I know I'm doing something stoopid / missing something simple, but there doesn't seem to be any documentation for this simple task.
Create & Distribute a Torrent STEP BY STEP
Re: Create & Distribute a Torrent STEP BY STEP
This is fixed in 1.2
Re: Create & Distribute a Torrent STEP BY STEP
So there is no way to share a new file with 1.1.9?
Re: Create & Distribute a Torrent STEP BY STEP
There is, but when it adds the torrent to the session it points to the default download directory, not the directory where the data is.. The solution is to create the torrent, but do not have the create torrent dialog add it to the session and then add it manually and point the download directory to the directory which holds the data.
