Feature request: Let user turn off auto-checking of files.

Post by Spectrum »

I have a feature request: Please let the user turn off auto-checking of files.

Whenever I start Deluge, it automatically checks all torrents for errors. This can take several minutes if I have some large torrents active. This is annoying. It even makes me a worse peer: I am liable to seed fewer torrents than I would otherwise have done, since Deluge insists on checking all torrents I seed every time I boot.

I request an option that lets the user turn off this automatic checking of files.

Thanks.

This is not possible, you need to check your data for integrity prior to sharing.

If Deluge is rechecking files every time you start, then you are probably not shutting it down properly.

That is possible. Now that I check again, it appears Deluge only auto-checks when I reboot, not when I explicitly close and restart Deluge.

When I shut down, I just leave Deluge running and let KDE close it. Apparently Deluge does not get closed properly this way. Can anyone suggest how to fix this (other than me manually closing Deluge every time)?

Thanks for the reply.

I am running Fedora 11 and KDE 4.2.4.

Does KDE having something like gnome client that I can receive a shutdown signal from?

Good question. I don't know, but I will try to find out. Thanks.

well i use ubuntu and i do close properly the client and everytime i reboot or log on too my ubuntu it rechecks about 70 torrents of about 140+ is there a file where deluge stores the info of the checked torrents?? if so can it be that is not saving the info of the checked ones??

i love deluge using 1.1.9 at the time have no issues but that one and the only checks 2 at a time it's annoying having to open and close it about 30+ times to get all the torrents checked.
