Deluge
Hi,
I was using deluge 1.x for a longer time with Ubuntu 8.10. (also added the deluge repository to my software repositories).
I used deluge as a daemon and besides the local client I also had the webinterface and a remote client running (used this tutorial to get deluged running as a service: http://www.bsodmike.com/pages/installin ... interface/).
However, there where some problems: 1.) I could not change settings via the webinterface (like torrents max upload speed). 2.) others users but the main user (who also happens to be the user running the service deluged) on the local machine where not able to start the local client. Somehow only an empty not responding windows showed up and failed to start the client.
These days I upgradet to Ubuntu 9.04. I was very happy to see that deluge version 1.16 made it into the official repository! So I decided to uninstall my somehow faulty deluge (sudo apt-get purge deluge), hoping that the new installed version would work properly and solve my 2 problems mentioned above.
I turned out that I was mistaken... now even the "main" user (me;)) who installed deluge could not start the client anymore. same blank not responding window showed up. Surprisingly the webui was still working and had the same settings as before (even the torrent still running).
Sincce it seemed that the purge did not work like it should, I deinstalled again and this time I made shure that I would get everything. So I first removed the deluge-daemon from the init.d, deleted the according files, uninstalled ALL deluge components (apt-get purge deluge*) and deleted all settings folders (~/.config/deluge). Then I installed again (apt-get install deluge*). And again it did not work at all. Of course this time the webui is also not working since there are no according settings anymore.
pls help me! i love this torrent client, it is awsome! How can I get it to work again? As a service like bevore and for all users, if possible...
