deluge 1.1.5 windows bogging badly

Post by asdfg »

Just got around to running the new version full time and I'm having a problem. It's bogging.
What I mean is that if I pick a an option at the top of the screen "file, edit" etc. or anything for that matter there is a significant lag before it opens. Same goes for choosing options or even selecting a different torrent.
Example: Pick "edit"... wait 5 - 10 seconds, pick "Preferences"... 5 - 10 seconds something happens etc. with everything in the deluge window. Other programs are unaffected and run normally.
Any idea what's causing this? Because previous versions all ran exceedingly smoothly.

If I recall correctly this problem happened before and it was related to the daemon and localhost.
Try disabling the classic mode (Preferences, Interface) then restart, it should open the daemon settings. Mine is set as 127.0.0.1 port 58846 and username and password. I think before you use the username and password you have to edit the file in deluges preferences folder called "auth" and add desired username:password in that format on the second line.

ok I disabled classic mode and restarted. got the daemon screen and same 127.0.0.1 port 58846.

Pardon my ignorance but I'm not sure what the username and password are for.
What are they and is it necessary to have to the bog?

Also, I'm a single computer straight into the cable modem user with no router and no networking experience, so I have to ask, what is the meaning of that ip address and port?

Sorry if that didn't make a difference, I believe this was what worked the last time. 127.0.0.1 should be the address of localhost or meaning contained within your computer, and that port is just the default port for deluged.

As for the username and password, it should only be needed if accessing deluge from outside the network, I would assume, no, you don't need it.

I too am getting these bogging problems, and I have tried the previously posted ideas.
