1.1.9 problems

Post by ctrlbrk »

First, let me say I am a long time user of uTorrent but am extremely, extremely impressed with Deluge and I really want to ditch uTorrent in favor of Deluge. Please keep up the outstanding work.

Running Windows 7 x64 build 16385
Deluge 1.1.9

I've got about 50 torrents totaling about 500GB. A handful of torrents are over 50GB each.

I'm having a lot of problems, here they are:
1) When exiting Deluge, the daemon process stays running most of the time.

2) Files that were "Checked" during the previous session and completely checked/finished are needlessly rechecked again at most startups. I believe this may be due to problem #1. This is a massive, massive problem when dealing with 500GB of torrents.

3) Progress bar reports "Checking 0.00%" and then magically a few minutes later the torrent is seeding. This happens a lot, in other words the Checking percentage is not incrementing correctly and there is no clue anywhere which torrent is being checked or how far along it is, including on the Files detail tab. Sometimes it increments correctly, most the time it doesn't. I believe it may be linked to #1.

4) Many times after restarting Deluge the bandwidth/traffic is nil. It's like something is broken during startup. Instead of 10MB/sec I get 0. All torrents are listed, and being "checked" like mad (see problem 2) but there is no traffic. I have to kill everything and start the processes over, then usually it starts working. There is no hint of an error during startup of the app that would lead me to understand why this happens, but I believe it may be linked to #1.

I understand that v1.2 is a pretty major new release. I hope some of the above issues will be corrected. I would like to beta test if possible. When can we expect 1.2? I looked for a nightly build download section, etc, but apparently there is not one available for Windows.

I'll consider building a preview release for Windows since it's not so easy to install from svn.. It's a bit of work though, so it may take me a while to around to it..

Thanks.

Also, I repeatedly have an issue where I pause/stop a torrent, and yet when I re-load Deluge it starts Checking that torrent again. It is ignoring that I have stopped it previously.

The "checking" part is my enemy right now, because it's causing an insanely high amount of reads (see my other post).
