Deluge webgui on debian Lenny

Post by jp73 »

Hi
I have a headless server with debian Lenny.
I'm trying now for over a period of weeks to get deluge running with the webgui. There seems to be a bug so it doesn't work. I try to manually install a newer version and found a .deb file for debian. But I'm stuck.
Any help to get it updated to the newest version without messing up my apt system ?

I manually downloaded deluge-torrent 1.1.8+dfsg-2 and installed it with dkpg -i but there are a lott more files that are old I think ?

I also manuaaly installed dpkg -i libtorrent-rasterbar-dbg_0.14.3-1_amd64.deb

and dpkg -i libtorrent-rasterbar3_0.14.3-1_amd64.deb

if I dpkg --list I see as well :

deluge 1.1.6+dfsg-2 bittorrent client written in Python/PyGTK (G
ii deluge-common 1.1.6+dfsg-2 bittorrent client written in Python/PyGTK (U
ii deluge-console 1.1.6+dfsg-2 bittorrent client written in Python/PyGTK (c
ii deluge-core 1.1.6+dfsg-2 bittorrent client written in Python/PyGTK (d
ii deluge-torrent 1.1.8+dfsg-2 bittorrent client written in Python/PyGTK (t
ii deluge-webui 1.1.6+dfsg-2 bittorrent client written in Python/PyGTK (w

and

libtorrent-ras 0.14.3-1 Debug symbols for libtorrent-rasterbar
ii libtorrent-ras 0.14.2-2+b1 C++ bittorrent library by Rasterbar Software
ii libtorrent-ras 0.14.3-1 C++ bittorrent library by Rasterbar Software

any help to sort this and get deluge running via the webgui without messing up my system ?

Thanks

ps I also looked at getting these updated files from testing or unstable but don't know how and if it's possible..... and offcourse I'm no linux expert............

for headless server + web ui you'll want deluge-core, deluge-common and deuge-webui.
you could optionally install deluge-console if you want the console ui.

I recommend following this userguide: http://dev.deluge-torrent.org/wiki/User ... ient#WebUI

I'm using a headless mashine with debian too , but I'm using "DEBIAN SID" .
I tried this link ;
http://apocryph.org/2008/11/30/setting_ ... ws_client/
Its works very well.
It's seems working too debian lenny.
Best Regards .

OK I've been messing about with this again all evening, reading everything I can find, faq, google etc.

I managed to upgrade the files to version 1.18 by changing lenny into squeeze in sources.list

And that's it I still get

Connect
Not Connected to a daemon

http://192.168.1.200:8112

http://localhost:58846

Other:

this happens when I type in the browser http://192.168.1.200:8112/connect

I think I have to start all over again !!! How do I remove everything and start from
