Suggestion: Periodic disk writes

Post by stoanhart »

It would be nice if Deluge updated all of the files it keeps in ~/.config/deluge periodically, rather than just on a clean shutdown. My computer just crashed, and upon rebooting it I noticed that all of the many torrents I am seeding have a ratio that is much, much lower than they used to be. This is because all uploads that have occurred since I last opened Deluge have been lost. Of course I still have the upload credits on the torrent sites I am a member of, but I will now be seeding these past the ratio I had previously decided on.

Just a thought. Big thumbs up to the devs! This is hands-down my favorite client.

Sorry to bring this up again, but I'm still not seeing this being done every few minutes.

I am using the PPAs for Ubuntu Jaunty, running 1.1.9.

I just did a proper shutdown and restart, which I haven't done in months. Upon starting back up, Deluge has lost not only the stats for my torrents since I last closed it, but also ALL torrents I have added since. I had 50 active torrents before shutdown, not I have 16. I will have to go to all of the private torrent sites I use, figure out which torrents I was seeding, and re-download them.

Is there an error log I could check, to see why Deluge can't save to disk?

Thanks.

You could run with debug logging.. See the -L and -l command line options.
