Authorization

Post by trainstroker »

So i have deluge 1.1.10 Rc2 running on my headless ubuntu machine. I finally got 1.0.7 running on osx in x11 with macports. I would like to use the daemon on my ubuntu machine and bascailly turn my osx into a thinclient. but everytime i try to connect i get authrization errors.

ProtocolError: <ProtocolError for 192.168.1.153:58846/RPC2: 401 Unauthorized>

i noticed in the changelog that it wasnt until 1.1.10 Rc1 that there was authorization, and yet 1.0.7 still has the auth file. is there any way to bypass authorization all together, or to authorize on 1.0.7

Authorisation is done on the daemon side hence why you're being asked for authorisation.
You need to be running the same version of deluge on both server and client: best would be to upgrade to the latest (1.1.3) on both, otherwise you're stuck with downgrading ubuntu to 1.0.7.
You might find this userguide useful: http://dev.deluge-torrent.org/wiki/UserGuide/ThinClient

1.1 and 1.0 are not compatible.. 1.1.0+ are simply bug fixes and shouldn't break compatibility between 1.1.x versions..
