Mcafee on Windows reports w9xpopen.exe as trojan.

Post by mintz »

I just ran the 1.1.0 Windows msi installer for deluge and McAfee reported that w9xpopen.exe was a trojan and removed it.

On initially running Deluge, the daemon and the UI seemed to run, but the web UI doesn't.

What does w9xpopen.exe do?

It has to be another false positive.
I believe it was for older compatibility, might not be used anymore.
And the web ui doesn't start automatically you have to choose to run it separately.

Moving topic to Windows...

That's what you get for running Mcafee.

How do I get rid of a Trojan on my flash drive? A few months ago, Norton picked up this Trojan and quarantined it. However, every time I put this stick into my laptop I get the same warning message that the flash stick/drive is infected. What is going on?

this isn't a general windows help forum, I'd suggest you post that question on norton's or window's forum.
better yet, use linux and never worry about viruses again.
