Deluge ignoring tracker proxy

I am using Fedora 8, Deluge 0.5.8.1. I am trying to route tracker requests through privoxy, which is running on localhost port 9050.

In Edit -> Preferences -> Proxies I ticked "tracker proxy" which I set as Type SocksV4, Server 127.0.0.1, Port 9050.

However, deluge ignores this setting and instead connects to trackers directly. What am I doing wrong?

I can confirm this bug here on Ubuntu 7.10. Deluge (0.5.8.3-1) ignores in some cases the Proxy settings and connects directly to the tracker. I think this happens only when Deluge autoupdates the tracker.

I'm on Ubuntu jaunty using Deluge 1.1.6, and wireshark is showing a direct connection on the device (not through proxy).
