i'm not really sure what an access violation means on vista, with uac and such...i'll try to look into it, though.
its not vista, its XP SP2 with the vista skin
yes, i'm aware of what their website says. libtorrent builds just fine with mingw, though. we do already bundle python. problem is, if you recompile python, you then have to recompile pywin32, comtypes, pyopenssl, dbus, etc, etc. gets really pretty crazy
but ... wouldn't you have to recompile all that stuff for the next release of deluge anyways?

yotomote wrote:not sure if this is of any help but i got this error too while trying to launch deluge with utorrent already running and listening to the same ports, i closed utorrent and deluged run without problems
I used to run utorrent version 1.7.5
I uninstalled it using "Add / Remove Programs" in the Control Panel and then used Uniblue's Registry Booster 2 to do a complete scan and complete fix of the Windows Registry. Using the same program, I then defragged the registry and rebooted the computer.
In short, utorrent should no longer have any affect on my system.

Although ... I do not remember if I removed utorrent before downloading and installing deluge, or after.

Had the same error popped out earlier and I noticed that it only began after I added the other torrent (file size is 2.5GB).
It seems to work fine at first with the other file (678.3MB), but only starts popping out Runtime error after I added the other torrent.
I've just installed Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package and it seems to work fine so far. Will edit if another error pops out.

[edit]
It seems that it was only for awhile =\ Getting the runtime error again.

i got same error occured. i used deluge-0.5.8.3 and change and keep change until the new version deluge-0.5.8.9. when the files that i download is achieve 80kbps and above, deluge crash and this error appeared. i open deluge again and try download again, and still after it reach 80kbps and above (this time is 90kbps) finally this error appeared again with deluge crash. is it we need to use lower kbps to download so it would make the download progress become more longer from what it takes...im already tension with this kind of error. please tell me, currently give up...
