Internal Browser (Firefox is configured to use a proxy...)

Post by mikewhatever »

Hi, happy holly days and development everyone. The internal browser in version 0.5.7.98 (0.5.8RC2) seems like a neat idea, but every time I try opening it, the following message comes up <Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections.>. Firefox is obviously not configured to use a proxy at all, why would it. Well, I've searched around, but nobody seems to have experienced or posted about this. Thanks

The internal browser in deluge uses the gecko engine (most commonly known as firefox) - so that message is referring to the deluge browser not your installation of firefox. I'm guessing something is going wrong on their end seeing the anonymous browser uses a proxy server to stay anonymous.

I've tried pinging the proxy the internal browser uses and got replies. Perhaps it's overloaded or something.

It has not changed in 0.5.8. I've tried looking at proxy related settings, but found nothing wrong. Here they are below. Any ideas?

I am on Ubuntu 7.10 with Firefox from the repositories. It's no big deal, and I'll try some more searching. Thanks.

Hi,

Until today everything was good. Now I have the same message and unable to use the internal browser. An idea ?
My distro : Ubuntu 7.10
Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections.

Lannick

For anyone interested, I found several proxies to use without changing anything in the settings.
