End User Documentation/Manual

Post by josephj »

I really like Deluge. Is there an end user manual or any other documentation available for it?
I'm using it under kubuntu hardy.
I'd like to better understand some of the statistics displays or figure out how to turn on the graphic download display, etc.

TIA

There's not much documentation/manual.

What version are you using? 0.5 or 1.0?

If you any specific questions feel free to post them on the forum.

Unfortunately no one has volunteered to write the manual.

I'm quite happy to help write the manual, I have an English degree so I'd be comfortable helping out with the writing itself or just proof reading etc if that's all you need. I'm pretty technically competent; I'm a web developer by trade so I'm familiar enough with programming theory, although I only have a basic knowledge of python specifically. Let me know if I can be any use.

My plan has been to use the wiki located here: http://dev.deluge-torrent.org/wiki/UserGuide

I was going to start adding 'Help' buttons to various dialogs around Deluge that would point back to various wiki nodes. If you would like to help with this, that would be great and we can set you up with a Trac account to be able to edit the wiki.

That sounds fine, if you let me know the details and anything you think needs addressing first I will start writing!

I'd also be happy to help out after the 10th of November (I'm swamped 'till then).

That's great. You can keep the FAQ up-to-date as well if you would like.. I know you answer a lot of questions around here, might be easier to point them to faq questions.

Boy, I'm glad I asked this question! Thanks to the volunteers who will be working on the documentation.

User guide has been created here: http://dev.deluge-torrent.org/wiki/UserGuide

A little sparse at the moment but keep checking back! If anyone has any suggestions or requests for documentation please let me know.
