Problems with deluge

Post by jovem »

Guys, i really love your job, deluge has improved my download experience alot. Today i just cant start deluge, i click on it and it opens but gets non responding until i close it using ctr+alt+del. I tried everything and when i tried to uninstall it i cant get it done. i want to uninstall it to install the new version (that currently i cannot download due to the fact that the link is broken). when i install another version it cant get it done and says i'm not allowed to delete it. I tried to erase the folder myself and it says:

"cant delete file: dbus-daemon-deluge.exe: Acess is denied"

make sure the disc is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.

can you help me guys?

cheers

I experienced the same problem twice. It happened both when I started deluge and a prompt appeared saying that there is a new version. After clicking the "No Thanks" button, deluge closed and when I started it again. It just froze.

I removed deluge from my computer via synaptic and downloaded the new .deb from the downloads section. Then after installation it worked. I suggest you try removing it using synaptic if you are using ubuntu.

Cheers! :D

I'm guessing you're running windows (seeing there was .exe) so benhurr99ph's advice won't be much use to you :P.

the download page requires javascript to work so your browser may have that disabled.
otherwise you can download it directly from here (no javascript needed)

it looks like dbus-daemon-deluge.exe is still running, open up a command prompt & enter

Code: Select all

taskkill.exe /F /IM dbus-daemon-deluge.exe
you could also try restarting if that doesn't work.

once it's no longer running, if you want to delete all your settings, you just need to delete the folder found in C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\deluge\

otherwise try first deleting persistent.state found in that folder.
