I just added a torrent to Deluge (0.5.9.1 on Ubuntu Hardy) which began downloading from 1 seeder at about 0.5 k/s. The seeders column said 1(3) and peers 0(2). I left it this way for an hour or so and the DL speed remained steady. Just for kicks, I added the same torrent file to Transmission on a Mac on the same home network (cable internet through a Linksys wireless router, Ubuntu box is wired, Mac is wireless), and Transmission instantly began downloading at 100 k/s. It eventually picked up 4 seeders and downloaded very quickly, while Deluge on the Ubuntu machine remained at the very slow 0.5 k/s with one peer only. The original fast download speed was not because it was just downloading from the Ubuntu machine on the same network, since it only took a few seconds to surpass what that machine had downloaded in an hour.
Any ideas as to why this is? I like Deluge a lot, but I'm wondering if downloads are taking unnecessarily long.
thanks!
Very slow DL in Deluge, fast on another computer

Make sure they're both configured properly through the router.

better yet, if possible, scrap the router and directly connect (there is always a bit of slowdown due to using any router, at least, back when I used one it was, might be different now, but no machine is efficient, and no wire completely resistant, so less things the internet has to go through, faster.)
