Unable to delete/move .fastresume files

I am on Hardy *86 and have run into some problems with .fastresume files. I was running deluge .5.8.9 and just recently updated to .5.9.0.1 to see if anything changed. A few torrents I have created these files and even after I removed the torrent and files, they still remain. When I try to move or delete them I get "error: no such file or directory." I have tried deleting as root, from terminal, just about everything I can think of but they remain. I guess they aren't harmful but I really want to get rid of them. Any suggestions?
