No systray icon in CachyOS

Post by Locutus »

I just installed CachyOS (Arch based), installed a few items including Deluge and after setting up Deluge it will not show up in the systray. When I close it and check System Monitor Deluge is running but just not in the systray. As you can see from the images everything is set correctly. Any idea what is going on?

Hello Locutus,

I suspect that it is because of wayland support by default. Can you type echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE?

I am currently still on Linux Fedora 40 (could not update because of Forticlient (used for work) lacking support for newer versions of Fedora) and on Fedora with KDE Plasma which uses wayland by default i also dont see the systray when i open deluge-gtk.

Thanks for the reply. I inadvertently got it fixed. Since Plasma 6.3.3 some of us after adding empty panels can only drag one icon to them then need to either logoff or restart Plasma to be able to drag another icon to the panel. I found the file that has all the info for all panels in Plasma and replaced it with one that was already setup to my liking from another distro with Plasma saving me some time in adding the individual program icons. This time when I did it for Cachy it actually corrected the Deluge Icon. It's like the original file was blocking the Deluge tray icon for some reason and replacing that file removed the block.

I'm thinking it's something with the latest Deluge itself cause I also could not use my backup folder for Deluge like I have been doing for some time now.
