Well, that didn't work either, unless I missed some libtorrent library/dependency files somewhere.mhertz wrote: ↑Wed Mar 05, 2025 8:54 am I posted before some instructions to get both running.

As said in the post, ned remove qBittorrent PPA first, to not bring in that incompatible libtorrent breaking deluge, and qbittorrent from non-ppa is new regardless. Instructions for that(remove qbittorrent ppa) is in later parts of linked thread in my previous post(as said in thread of linked post here).
I uninstalled qbittorrent which actually wasn't installed as I run it from an AppImage file (version 5.04), but it did tell me about all these other files (too many to list) and to use sudo apt autoremove, which I did.
I had already uninstalled deluge, so I reinstalled it (just deluge-gtk) and exactly the same issue. Will only run in client mode.
Then I thought, what's the difference between deluge and deluge-gtk? So I then installed deluge, and I got a different error. Something about needing setuptools.
At this point I almost gave up but gave deluge-gtk one more try and, low and behold, it worked!
Now I'm about to start qbittorrent (before I click submit) to see a:if qbittorrent starts and b:they will work hand in hand.
Conclusion: They start together just fine. But deluge gives me "This program is not responding" time after time after time and when that finishes, if I click an entry in the torrent download list, any item, it just shuts; no warning or anything and as there's no "dot" on the deluge docked icon, means it's crashed. But qbittorrent just works.
I'm going to restart the VM just to kick out any querks which may be lingerring around after all the uninstalls, removes and reinstalls.
Nope. No difference. Ever list item click and deluge just quits without reason or notification.
I thank you for all your assistance in trying to get this going, but, as qbittorrent just works, and deluge doesn't, I'm afraid I'm sticking with qbittorrent. For now anyway.
