Port issue - port forward - firewal settings

Post by XyLomad »

Hi guys,

So I spend the entire morning trying to solve this. I'm having port issue.
My first concern was with NordVPN, I first set this settings to match NordVPN advices :

Nothing happened. Then I understood that proxy is just for hiding identity (correct me if I'm wrong) and found in this forum that NordVPN does not allow port forward so I turned NordVPN off.

I then tried to set my router properly, using Static IP first :

setting then in my router :

opened forwarded ports like this :

and this :

Reboot my router but nothing works. I finally checked if everything's fine with windows firewall :

As you can see, seems good.

So, i feel lost, I don't get it. It's been a while I didn't use deluge, I haven't any trouble before using NordVPN (I'm using v2.1.1 of deluge by the way), I didn't changed any settings before today. So what's wrong ?

Just to avoid time lost for you, here are the main settings in deluge :

Hope that U guys can drive me to troubleshooting this !

Have a great day !

I would try disabling the Windows Firewall altogether and testing it, or explicitly forwarding those ports - not sure if you just clicked "Allow" when it prompted you.

Also, https://portchecker.io will do the same thing as "Test Active Port"

Finally, you can also bind the outgoing and incoming interface to the 192.168 IP you see in ipconfig, and assuming that it matches in your router configuration for forwarding that port, if you click apply, restart Deluge, and the Windows Firewall is disabled. It almost certainly would have to be your router if Nord is off and closed.

As far as troubleshooting your router itself goes, I'm not really sure where to start as the settings from what I can decipher are correct - assuming the IP you put in the blank is correct.

Doesn't seems to work actually : "ERROR: IPv4 address '192.168.1.XXX' does not appear to be public" so I guess i do something wrong

No, I'm sorry you misunderstood, in that website you will use your real public IP, so whatever https://www.ipchicken.com or something shows you when you're not using a VPN or proxy.

the 192 goes into Deluge in the incoming/outgoing interface blanks.

Ok i get it.

Well i think i found the problem. It looks like my router doesn't allow me to have static ip or dns changes. I verified it by using different static IP using TCP/IPv4 properties and network failed to work. I also tried to use automatic ip and manual DNS and again network failed to work.

I guess I can't do anything...

You should be able to forward ports from the screenshots. It is not necessary to change your public IP or any DHCP settings.

From the screenshots it appears that the functionality exists.

Which router do you have (Brand and model?)

Would it be possible for you to come to our discord server and catch me there? I'd like to work with you to figure this out but over posts is a little difficult.
