Deluge working, but can't get it configured quite right.

Post by weidbrewer »

I recently migrated my server to new hardware and Ubuntu 18.04, fresh install. My old one had been around since probably 14.04 and upgraded in place. The issue I have is that I had the Deluge client set up on there, and it's been so long since I since I did that
before that I can't remember how I got it working correctly back then. It's installed and I can download torrents through it, so this isn't a show-stopper, but the two things I can't get working correctly are:

1. Connection Manager/start daemon - I have to click through this and connect/start every time I open the program. I remember it being a thing back when I first started, but can't remember what I need to do so that everything just starts when I open the program.

2. RSS feed - I have the Yarss2 plugin installed and my feed/subscription set up. When I look at it each day, I see the new episodes listed there, so it's fetching the data, but it's not actually starting any downloads. They all just have a red X next to them.

If anyone could help me sort these two issues, I'd be grateful.

1) There is a start up options at the bottom of the connection manager. There are options for auto connect and auto start daemon. Alternatively, maybe you had it set up with "sytemctrl enable deluged" from the terminal to start the daemon when the computer starts.

2) Sounds like they are being added in the paused state?

#1 - Hey, thanks! That was it.

#2 - I can see them in my subscription, but they don't auto populate into my download list. I have to go to the page the RSS feed is generating from and manually add the torrents. (I have a screen grab, but I don't feel like setting up an image hosting account so that I can link it here, and i don't see a way to attach/upload it directly to this message.)

EDIT: Looking at the window, I seem to recall it has something to do with the "Filter Include" line, but I don't remember what I should enter there.
EDIT 2: I just put a space in that field, and got a green check mark next to everything. I will see if that actually solves it.
