Authetication problem

Post by andry96 »

Hello everyone!
Currently I'm testing on a virtual machine (Ubuntu Server x64, VMware Workstation 12 Player) the configuration for my future server. I have successfully installed Deluge client, but I have a problem in the remote connection to it: in particular, the problem is with the mobile app "Torrent Manager" on a Windows Phone. During the authentication phase the app tells me "Server not found".
But if I connect to a network outside my LAN using any browser (specifying the public IP address or the address created thanks to No-Ip ) the Web UI is loaded properly, and ask me to enter the password.
I think it's an authentication problem:
1)I've already created in the file "auth" User "deluge: deluge: 10" ,
2)I've already enabled remote access from the Web UI,
3)I've already open the ports 8112 and 58846 on my router and Ubuntu Firewall.
What is the problem? Thanks for your help! :D

Alternatively, could someone post all the steps, one by one, in order to set a correct remote connection?
Thanks :)

Authentication in auth file is not the same as webui login password. It's likely the wrong server details are being added to Torrent Manager, you need to specify 8112 port as I see it uses the webui.

Thank you for reply.
In Torrent Manager I add the following information:
Client: Deluge
Protocol: HTTPS (I enabled SSL)
Address: my Public IP or DDNS No-Ip address
Port:8112
Username and password: I don't understand which credentials I need to use. I tried to use the password of the WebUI but does not work (and I don't know the username). Can you help me?

There is no username for webui access, are you not able to leave username empty? Have you asked Torrent Manager about this?

Hello, thanks for support.
I tried to leave username empty and use a WebUI password, but app tells "server not found".
I do not understand which is the problem, also because from browser all work properly.

This is not a Deluge issue you need to ask Torrent Manager Devs.

Thank you for quick reply.
I'll contact Torrent Manager developers in order to solve the problem or I'll change the app.
I know we're going off-topic, but I would like ask you about other small things:
1) the project to make Deluge "multi-user" is still going on? Currently, what are the options available?
2) about safety: it's possible to disable the password access and replace it with an access based on public and private key?
3) in the end, about "AutoAdd" plugin: I know that is not available an interface for WebUI, then, how can I customize it?
Thanks for your patience and apologize for the scary off-topic.
