Sonarr: Handling downloaded TV Shows

Post by jagstyles »

I'm a little unclear as to what happens once a tv show has been successfully downloaded by Sonarr once the torrent download is complete in the torrent client. I've set rules in Sonarr as to where the shows are to be downloaded but there are also rules in the torrent client for folders where the downloads are to be stored. Which one takes priority?

I essentially want to automatically download these tv shows directly to their respective folders in Plex so that it can then automatically index them in my Plex library. For movies, it will be different as I will need to reencode them to a more streaming friendly format first.

Thanks

Sonarr is the tool responsible for this operation.
If you have correctly configured deluge in sonarr, sonarr will detect the downloaded episodes in deluge (wherever they are) and will move them at the right place for your plex.

What I would like to do after some thought is rather than have Sonarr automatically add the downloaded episodes directly to my plex media folder, I would like to keep the MKV files in a Processing folder where FFMPEG will then convert them all to MP4. Once conversion is completed, I can then manually move the files over to the plex media folder.

Unfrotunately, it seems that with Sonarr, there's no way to allow for setting up the same download folder for each series, not to mention that a bunch of series folders are created for each. Trying to find a way to automate a part of the process of converting some of these MKV files.

i did what you want with labelplus, detecting 720p for shows and 1080p for anime
but thats extremely broad and you're doing extremely specific (folder per show) so i dont think you'll want to use my method
