Extremely Slow Seeding Compared To uTorrent

Post by spex »

Hello,

I'm currently trying to get away from uTorrent. I installed Deluge last night and so far I really like it. However, at the moment it seems almost incapable of seeding.

I'm a dedi with a 1gbps connection that I have been seeding from for over a year. uTorrent is regularly pumping out 200mbps to 700mbps in seeds.

As a test I took 5 torrents that I know always seed well. In Deluge no single torrents tops 10kbps. I close Deluge an open all of them in uTorrent. Almost immediately they are all seeding out at 50mbps to 150mbps each.

Here's the same torrent in both.

uTorrent: http://puu.sh/kSWJ0/2bf4e8850a.png
Deluge: http://puu.sh/kSWXV/683fe1ff5a.png

That is with the same 7 torrents seeding at the same time in each program.

In Deluge if I pause everything but this torrent it gets up to about 10mbps

Deluge Settings:

Queue: http://puu.sh/kSXa1/16fd5855a8.png
Cache: http://puu.sh/kSXba/16eaf070c6.png

OS: Server 2012 R2
No Firewall running

Does anyone have any suggestions to bring my Deluge seeding speed up to par with uTorrent?

registered just to answer this one.

uncheck the "rate limit IP overhead" setting in bandwidth. I had the exact same problem until I unchecked this. It includes the IP overhead in the speed limits. Something seems to be broken in that this setting overrides everything else.

deluge seems slower than uTorrent would be/I remember it being but I haven't tested them side by side so.......

Thanks for the suggestion.

I disable that a few days ago. Didn't help.

I gave up last night. With 50 torrents in Deluge it occasionally hits 10mbps upload. I loaded all of the same torrents into uTorrent and it's sitting here uploading 600mbps at this moment.

Something is just not right.

I really like the Deluge interface and Web UI. However, I need to seed and clearly it's not capable of doing so in my case.

This kind of thing has been discussed many times in the forum and you probably need to set one of the libtorrent preset profiles using ltconfig plugin.
