not clear why the chosen unit is base 2 (MIB/s etc) and not base 10 (MB/s) The MI/KI are for storage and not for transmission. Transmission has always been base 10 e.g 10Mb/s 100Mb/s 1Gb/s ethernet etc 100kb/s fddi etc. My contract with the ISP is 12Mb/s it was 5Mb/s and when i get rich, will be 100Mb/s
