I had to start a large amount of small torrents, 1300 in total. At first I got 10% in and deluge crashed, all the torrents disappeared and had to be manually re-added.
After that happened I set up deluge daemon, and configured my usual instance as a client (on the same machine). This has been a much better experience and I've yet to lose anymore data.
My issue is that the deluge client becomes unresponsive, attempting to remove or add torrents doesn't work, it shows the overall speed as 0.0k and I cant view the status/details/files etc of any torrent. I have to restart the client in order to get maybe two minutes of functionality, before it dies again.
I've read that the Dev version of Deluge has better support for a large amount of torrents, but it's not available publicly. I'm only at 296/1300 completion wise, and I can't imagine the client in this state this any longer - I just want to be able to manage my queue!

Hi
Unfortunately there isn't much you can do about this. Version 1.3.8 contained some speed improvements on updating the GTKUI torrent list, so if you are using an older version you should upgrade. The only thing you can do is to reduce the number of torrents.

When reporting issues, please include any relevant information such as OS (and version), python version (for Windows users this depends on which Deluge installer was used), Deluge version and plugin version.

I'm on version 1.3.11, so I should have those improvements?
That's a shame, I've been using Transmission alongside Deluge in the meantime, I suppose I'll just keep doing that.
edit: also I can't reduce the number of torrents, as the queue is unmanageable, I cannot interact with it without deluge freezing or using obscene amounts of RAM.

Re: Unusable client with >1k torrents
There is a bug in Windows that causes the gui to have a memory leak. I wonder if that is causing your issue. Any time one of the widgets redraws itself it doesn't free the memory. With that many torrents there might be a lot of things being redrawn. Can you try maybe running the client on a linux VM or something? Another option might be to use labels and only interact with a few at a time.

Re: Unusable client with >1k torrents
I'm having similar issues with 2566 torrents. I am also using v 1.3.11. At this point it seems like qBittorrent has the same issues, so I'll have to go back to uTorrent 2.2.1 again if all else fails.
Edit: However, I do understand that keeping this many torrents is unusual. I might bite the bullet and remove the more heavily seeded files and keep only the oddballs, but I take pride in helping my private trackers as much as possible. Unfortunately, short of paying for a seedbox, it doesn't seem like there are any other solutions.

Re: Unusable client with >1k torrents
Update to the situation, Deluge is ruining my computer.
I tried to VNC in today (as I do every morning) and the connection failed - I assumed the machine had been shut down or something so I asked my GF to turn it on when she can.
Turns out the machine was actually on, so she sent me a picture of the screen: http://imgur.com/VfdpahM
HUNDREDS of tabs, all of them attemping to load the user guide? http://dev.deluge-torrent.org/wiki/UserGuide
Now the machine is out of memory and my services have started to crash. This is ridiculous, I get that >1k torrents isn't exactly every day usage, but other clients manage fine and this kind of instability isn't really acceptable.
