Hi all,
Had a bad hiccup on raid array, system went down. I run windows in a virtualbox (on top of linux). Checking torrents was tortuously slow.
Running the 'free' version of avast antivirus and MS security essentials. WOW, the newest avast and MSSE are not friendly at all. Disabled security essentials, checking speed went up by a factor of 50x at least. Disabled avast for the recheck session (~400 torrents) and more speed boost.
So, if you're running into a checking torrent problem, disable those (I removed security essentials), and things should be much better.
