Not downloading no incoming connections

Hi...total newbie here. Try not to groan! Just downloaded deluge and followed Torguards instructions regarding the proxy to the letter. Went to download my first torrent and it's not downloading. Theres a red dot at the bottom that says no incoming connections. When I press it it takes me to the preferences window...I pressed 'test active port' and it gave me a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark.
Any suggestions?

It would be helpful to know what OS you are on and what version of deluge you are using. However without knowing any of that you might want to look at updating libtorrent thats a part of deluge. The packaged version isnt the newest and i know past versions have had issues with socks5. Other than that without info id say just verify your setting most likely username/password. maybe verify the proxy connection/info by trying it in a browser or something.

First thing I would do is verify everything works correctly without the proxy.

Thanks for your replies guys. Seems I was overzealous in my filling in proxy details as per Torguards website...apparently VPN doesn't need these preferences to be filled in, all happens automatically. Working like a charm now.
