Hi,
I'm a bit of a newbie with all of this, so my attempts at googling a solution to my problem has come up with naught.
Two days ago, all of the torrents I currently have "added" to deluge (about twenty) stopped downloading, even though there appeared to be seeders available (in the seeders collumn it says "0 (15)" for example). I managed to "fix it" though, by downloading another torrent (that had many seeders, 300+) and that seemed to kickstart the others and they continued to download. Yesterday and today though, the same problem occours - nothing downloads no matter what I do, and the "trick" of downloading another file doesn't work.
I've tried pausing all of them, only starting one at a time, changed the order of the trackers, updated the trackers, forced a recheck, restarted the program (as well as the computer). Nothing does anything. Some of the new torrents I've added doesn't even "connect enough" to show me the size of the file (but other newly added torrents do, so it's not consistent). I've tried adding torrents from different sources (thepiratebay, kat, eztv). Usually I use magnet links, but I've tried downloading the torrent file manually and then opening it in deluge afterwards as well, that doesn't change anything.
So, I'm a bit at my wits end here - does anyone know what I can do to try and get them started again?
Sincerely,
Gnildryw
OS: Windows 7
Deluge version: 1.3.11
Libtorrent: 0.16.18.0
Antivirus: Avast
I haven't installed any new programs lately (though there was a bunch of windows updates two days ago - but that doesn't explain how the problem occoured, then got fixed, then occoured again). I share my Internet with my neighbour (who has the modem), so I don't know if they have made any changes that could affect this, but the Internet works without a hitch.
Torrents don't download even though there are seeders
Re: Torrents don't download even though there are seeders
What the f*ck?!
It works again now - that makes no sense at all (unless writing a forum message is somehow connected by magic... hmm, doubt it). I was about to close the program (no use having it running if it doesn't do anything - and yes, I've had it opened for hours waiting to see if all it took was patience) and then saw that it had started downloading again. I'm so confused...

Okay, somehting is deffinitely wrong.
Some of the torrents finished quickly (and turned blue with "seeding" written on them), so I deleted those and the remaining torrents kept downloading happily. Then, just to check, I closed deluge and reopened the program. Now nothing downloads again. Please help.

Re: Torrents don't download even though there are seeders
Hmm, I've noticed a pattern in whether or not the size of the file is shown - af file downloaded / added to deluge by magnet link doesn't show the files size (size collumn: "0.0 KiB" even though seeders: "0 (1440)") whereas the "old method" of downloading the torrent file and then opening in deluge, does gives me the size of the file (size: "505.7 MiB" and seeders: "0 (1448)"). I don't know if this helps in figuring out what's wrong?
Re: Torrents don't download even though there are seeders
I just ticked "on" the visibility of the status bar (the bar at the bottom that shows an overview of down- and uploading speeds and so on), and it says "no incomming connections!" I'm guessing that's a pretty important hint. I haven't changed anything though, and I don't really understand the network settings in deluge (nor why it works one moment and then not the next). I've attached a screenshot of my settings (it's in Danish, but hopefully it makes sense still).

A couple things. First of all don't use EZTV anymore. They closed down back in April and scammers are using their site now.

The no incoming connections error is related to not having your ports forwarded correctly. It is probably something that needs to be done in the router, but it could be a firewall on your computer as well. You should uncheck that box for the random port for incoming connections and change it to a static number. They way you have it set up now it will pick a different number every time you restart it. You can set the from and the to to the same number. You only need 1 port.
In general several people have had issues with the libtorrent version that shipped with the latest version of deluge. You could try to update that manually and see if that helps. There are links for 1.0.3, 1.0.4 and 1.0.5 in this thread. Just download the file and put the libtorrent.pyd in your c:/program files(x86)/deluge folder. It might work best if you are using the python 2.7 version which is different from the normal one.

Re: Torrents don't download even though there are seeders
Damn, I did not know about eztv - thanks for the info!
What do you think changed all of a sudden? I doubt my neighbours have done anything new (although I can't know that of course without asking them - they're not very tech savy though).
Changing the port to manual and choosing just one no. didn't make any difference by the way. I also tried making changes to the firewall settings (there was only one box that made sense to change, but that hasn't helped either). I'll try the libtorrent thingie.

Re: Torrents don't download even though there are seeders
Update: changing the libtorrent just broke deluge instead (all I did was back up the original .pyd file and copied over the new).

Re: Torrents don't download even though there are seeders
Great. Even though I've uninstalled deluge (and deleted the left over files as well) and reinstalled anew, the program's still broken.
Re: Torrents don't download even though there are seeders
It seems kind of hit or miss for people weather the new libtorrent works for people or not. That was why you made a copy of your old libtorrent file first. If it didn't work you could just delete the new one and copy the old one back. I don't know why deleting everything and starting over isn't working though. Uninstall deluge and then delete these 3 folders:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Deluge
C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\deluge
C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\Python-Eggs
The last 2 folders are hidden so you might have to adjust your settings:
From windows explorer click Organize->folder and search options->change to view tab->adjust the show hidden files and folders option. Might have to click apply to all folders as well.
With all 3 folders deleted I think all traces of deluge should be gone. Then you can try reinstalling. I would recommend the py2.7 version and then maybe the new libtorrent will work.
