Hey,
I found Deluge while I was looking for an uTorrent alternative few weeks ago so I'm quite new about it.
My problem is Deluge is quite unstable:
- When I check "Do not download" on few files composing the torrent, the download will hang at say 99.37% (while the only file allowed to be downloaded is displayed at 100%). As I found on the forum, I had to quit and force recheck few times in order to solve this
- Most annoying, my download speed is very bad. Most of the time, it's mokay (60-70% download speed capabilities - no theory here) sometimes it just stops. Meanwhile, my upload speed goes crazy (like 700 KiB/s whereas my internet connection is far from that: ADSL 8 Mb download and 1Mb upload on router)
For information, I have no firewall but the windows one (Windows 7 64 bits) which was setup to allow Deluge traffic, and I have setup NAT for both TCP/UDP while Deluge is set to use a specific port (the NAT related one). Plus, I disabled UPNP on the settings because of I'm using NAT. Deluge bandwidth settings are also tweaked regarding the provided guide and my internet connection analysis.
To check if it was the .torrent, I launched uTorrent using the same torrent files and my DL speed gone to 100% of my traffic capabilities on this client.
I would appreciate any help.
Informations:
Client: 1.3.11
libtorrent: 0.16.18.0
OS: W7 64 bits
No plugins checked nor installed
Thanks
Deluge is unstable
Re: Deluge is unstable
See if upgrading your libtorrent will help. 1.0.5 is the newest right now and there is a link in this thread.

Re: Deluge is unstable
Replacing my version with yours gets me an error related to "core". Asks me to disable classic mode and after this I see the daemon is stopped and I can't connect it.
As I found on the thread you linked, someone solved this issue by reinstalling everything, which I'm trying right know, I'll let you know!
Thank you for the information btw.

Re: Deluge is unstable
Well, again "Error starting Core".
What is strange is that the "Details:" part is empty (it was empty too before uninstalling deluge).
EDIT: Even checked using your previous 1.0.4, but same error.

Re: Deluge is unstable
I just though of something with this. I am using the python 2.7 deluge install and I used python 2.7 to build my libtorrent. I wonder if that is not compatible with the standard python 2.6 windows install and why some people can get it to work by reinstalling everything.
Python 2.7 install files are in the py2.7/ sub directory of the windows downloads.

Re: Deluge is unstable
That's exactly what I was thinking about regarding the message someone posted stated he installed python-libtorrent.
Gonna try it and let you know so it can help others.

Re: Deluge is unstable
OK. I hope you can figure it out. The libtorrent upgrade did help fix my download and upload speeds. Since libtorrent is the main brains of the program and deluge is just the fancy graphics on top of it it might fix your other error with downloading only 1 file as well.
Re: Deluge is unstable
Can I ask why the version provided with Deluge installer is so outdated (0.16.18.0) and there is no information in the download section about updating libtorrent lib ?
Re: Deluge is unstable
I think that was the newest version back when deluge 1.3.11 was released.
There is some documentation on building libtorrent yourself, but it doesn't include the directions about replacing your libtorrent.py file with the new one to install it.

Re: Deluge is unstable
Reinstalling Deluge using the installer inside "py2.7" folder did the trick. Or not.
The GUI succeed in launching correctly (daemon is ok) but I can't upload anything and my download speed is still ridiculous :/
