Adding directories to downloaded torrents

Post by b9AcE »

Considering that it is possible to rename directories (and files) in torrents in the add dialog, it seems very likely to me we're also able to add directories inside the same dialog but I can't find how.

Say for example someone else created a torrent with one or multiple files directly in the download directory, I want to be able to compensate for this so as to avoid the download directory becoming a mess and possibly files of same name conflicting and thus overwriting.
It is of course possible to do this by changing the "download location" instead, but this seems like more work both when adding the torrent as well as when removing it and the displayed name in the torrent list is seemingly taken from the common directory name if one is present so it seems it should be possible to set one if none was provided as a it takes managing of a high number of torrents from filled with exceptions to being uniform and easy.

I just can't figure out how to do it.
Have tried right-clicking, double clicking and various keyboard keys with no effect.
Can anyone tell me how this is done, or in the weird case it's not actually possible tell me where and how to request a feature like this?

Press F2 to rename the file, and then prepend the filename with your desired directory name, followed by a forward slash.

For example, if your filename is coolmovie.avi, rename it to mydirectory/coolmovie.avi.

This works on linux, not sure if it will work on Windows because the slashes go in the opposite direction.
