libtorrent 0.16.17 [r10189] for Windows Deluge 1.3.7

Post by Cas »

It has become apparent that there may be a few issues with the 0.16.16 libtorrent supplied with Deluge 1.3.7 so I have built a newer version for users to test. The most notable is that encryption with openssl was not enabled on the default build so these builds fix that.

I have uploaded two attachments, most users will be downloading the archive without py2.7 in the filename:
libtorrent_0.16.17[r10189].7z
however if you specifically downloaded the py2.7 version of Deluge, download the following archive instead:
libtorrent_0.16.17_py2.7[r10189].7z
To install, locate Deluge program dir (if you want backup libtorrent.pyd) then extract the libtorrent and openssl files from archive, overwriting existing files.

Verify 0.16.17 is installed: http://dev.deluge-torrent.org/wiki/Faq# ... onIamusing

I've been running 1.3.6 for quite a while since every time I've upgraded to 1.3.7, all my downloads stop with "error: "
This fixed my weird "Error:" problem, thanks!

EDIT: It's a lot slower, takes several minutes before I get any connections, I usually get up to 10mb/s within 30 secs, now it takes like 5min at least.
Any ideas?

Hi, I'm glad I found this post because I've been trying to build libtorrent with ssl support for some time.

When you built it, did you follow the instructions here? http://dev.deluge-torrent.org/wiki/Building/libtorrent

I did manage to build the libtorrent.Pyd, but when copied to the appropriate folder, deluge would not start nor throw any error.

Which steps did you go through to build it?

Hi again,

I got it working when adding the two SSL-files I found in one of your packages together with the libtorrent.pyd I managed to build myself.

Created a new package because the version of libtorrent I used to build seemed to be more up to date (released 8:th August). Haven´t tested it much though. libtorrent_1.0.1_py2.7.zip

As of today I have uploaded a new Windows version of Deluge 1.3.7 with these files, the installed names are the same but see http://dev.deluge-torrent.org/wiki/ReleaseNotes/1.3.7 if you need to verify hashes.

As a Deluge newbie, I'd appreciate quick tips and confirmation regarding updating Deluge 1.3.7 with libtorrent 0.16.17.

I'm currently using Deluge 1.3.7 the 9JUL2014 release as thin client with a remote server. The server provider just confirmed they updated their libtorrent to 0.16.17.

Now I need to update my local Deluge installation. Do I need to completely uninstall my Deluge 1.3.7 9JUL2014 release and clean reinstall Deluge 1.3.7 25JUL2014 release? Or will overwriting existing files with the following ones supplied by Cas in the initial post result in identical to a clean reinstall?

Files to overwrite in my Deluge installation directory - C:\Program Files\Deluge:
- libeay32.dll
- libtorrent.pyd
- ssleay32.dll

Thanks for advising!

Just download and install the updated version. The libtorrent version is only important if you are downloading torrents locally.

I'm using 1.3.7 with libtorrent 0.16.17.0 and still getting the same "The parameter is incorrect $filename" error. Is there any fix for this yet?
(Also I just noticed that the copyright notice on the About page still reads: "Copyright 2007-2011 Deluge Team")
