Running Deluge blocks DNS resolution

Post by titos »

Hello all,

since sometime ago, whenever I run Deluge, my Windows 7 (64bit) system is unable to resolve DNS. That is, I'm not able to browse the internet using URL, not even ping websites, just IPs. This has not always been the case. I think it started when I tried to install the Blocklist plugin, which I then uninstalled.

Please advise. Thanks :)

One thing to try is moving or removing the entire Deluge config to see if that helps.

If by "config" you mean the C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\deluge directory, then I removed its contents, it recreated some, but still, the problem remains...

I am not sure how this could be occurring so not sure what else to suggest.

Is there a file for the Blocklist plugin I can remove from somewhere in order to make sure it is not loaded (although in the options it shows as not loaded)? Is there a beta binary for windows I can try?

Hi,

it turns out that if I enable the "anti-hacking protection" in my router (tried High and Middle settings), then when running deluge (or uTorrent which I also tried), DNS is somehow prevented from working correctly and resolving URLs to IPs. Don't know why this occurs, I'm just happy I finally figured it out. Hopefully this will save others some time. Here's a screenshot of the stupid anti-hacking protection config screen.

Thanks for the help so far, and sorry for involving you in this.

(PS. The router is a NetFasteR, distributed by HOL in Greece. I think that the manufacturer is ZTE.)
