I've tried everything. I have followed the post "BitTorrent optimization and troubleshooting guide" to the letter, deluge recognizes my ports are open, and I've matched my settings to Transmission, a client I'm also using, which works perfectly on the same ports. I have tried leeching popular torrents like linux distros and libre office, etc. I feel like I've tried every setting that I could imagine would be getting in my way both on the router side and within deluge.
I don't have the "no connections" error at the bottom of the interface. When attempting to torrent a file I do get the error "operation timed out"
At the moment the only torrent software I can get to work is transmission, but I would like to use Deluge. Any help would be much appreciated.
Running Mac OS X 10.6 with Deluge 1.3.5
Thank you.
Can't seem to get deluge to connect to peers
Re: Can't seem to get deluge to connect to peers
I am having the same problem. Transmission works but not deluge. I prefer using deluge because of the proxy ability. I am trying to download Ubuntu. It works in transmission. The error i get in deluge is
"Tracker Status: publicbt.com: Error: timed out"
I know my incoming ports are open. I have tested it with canyouseeme.org and even using ssh. I am port forwarding numbers 50000-500019 and it always picks 50000. Both TCP and UDP are being forwarded. I got transmission working on 500002.
Any help is appreciated.

Re: Can't seem to get deluge to connect to peers
I also tried it with qbittorrent and it worked even with the socks proxy. The tracker status in qbittorrent stil timed out, but it was still able to find peers.
Re: Can't seem to get deluge to connect to peers
I removed the directory .config/deluge. After starting deluge with a blank slate, it started to work again. I then proceeded to add my setting back one at time to see what would happen. I tried testing it by downloading ubuntu. Finally when i added the proxy for the tracker, it stopped connecting to any peers. Adding proxies for DHT and peers still worked. Only tracker and web seed did not work. For me the important proxy is for tracker. I took the proxy for tracker setting out and it began to work again. So something is wrong with using proxy for tracker.
I also noticed removing the proxy settings from the gui does not work. For some reason the proxy setting are still in the file .config/deluge/session.state. I had to delete the file to get it to work.
I am still trying to debug this. If i come up with more info i will post it here. Does anyone think i should i open a bug?

Re: Can't seem to get deluge to connect to peers
The proxy removal issue has been fixed and will be in the next release.
What version of libtorrent are you using?

Re: Can't seem to get deluge to connect to peers
by libtorrent i am assuming you mean rb_libtorrent and that would be rb_libtorrent-0.15.9-1.fc17.x86_64
I also got my setup to work with proxy and everything (i hope). But i had to take the odd way of writing my configurations directly into the config files. I also found that removing the file .config/deluge/session.state every time before starting deluge helps. I really have not narrowed down what the bug is, but i think i got things working.

Re: Can't seem to get deluge to connect to peers
Does anyone know what i lose by always removing .config/deluge/session.state before starting deluge?
Re: Can't seem to get deluge to connect to peers
OK .. i thought i got things work, but looks like i did not. While i can download ubuntu.x86_64, i am unable to download ubuntu.x86. I do have the proxies on in both cases. The ubuntu.x86_64 was downloaded before when the proxies were not on. So does somehow deluge remember the peers it was connected to, even though i freshly started a download of ubuntu.x86_64?
Re: Can't seem to get deluge to connect to peers
As I said the proxy setting issue is fixed so either download and install the latest git 1.3-stable branch or edit the Deluge file on your system to match this commit
As for the actual proxy issue it will something in libtorrent so I cannot really help there.

Re: Can't seem to get deluge to connect to peers
I add a torrent to Deluge it automatically creates the entire folder structure of the torrent. But, since the torrent is paused, it doesn't download any of the files. How can I get Deluge to not create the folders?
